Hello fit and fab friends!
This month I am going back to some food product highlights that might make you happy. Why? Well, because these are snack foods and quickie meals. I notice more and more how joyful you feel when I give you permission to eat convenience food. Eventually you will give yourself that permission first, but I get it. You also want to know the food is not killing your insides or promoting weight gain.
I’ve mentioned this before but in case you don’t remember, my decision tree in choosing these items is really to first look if the product has whole food ingredients, balance of macronutrients (protein and carbohydrates) and then of course taste.
Here are the products I’m in to right now (I hyperlinked the amazon link to some products for shopping ease):
Way Better Sweet Potato Chips (Target and other stores):
Why I dig them: Check out the ingredients- Stone Ground Non-GMO Whole Corn, Sunflower Oil, Sweet Potato, Sprouted Seed and Grain Blend (sprouted quinoa, sprouted chia seed), Pure Sea Salt. Need I say more? ALL whole foods. And quality whole foods at that.
Simply Balanced Bean, Lentil & Tomato Blend (Target):
Why I dig them: A balanced meal of beans, lentils, vegetables and healthy fat. Hearty and delicious. If you want to add more carbohydrate, top this over a whole grain pasta.
Handcrafted Tamales Wrapped in Corn Husks (Trader Joes)
Why I dig them: Whole and quality ingredients which comes through in the flavors. It tastes like it hasn’t been refined. It’s refreshing for a frozen meal.
Guacomole with Greek Yogurt (Trader Joes):
Why I dig them: Literally everyone who tries this dip is blown away by the light and creamy flavor with actual avocado chunks in it. Very healthy to boot! A mix of avocado and greek yogurt which you know good and well how support greek yogurt is for you. Pair with Sweet Potato chip!
Bai 5 (Costco and other stores):
Why I dig them: Sweetened with stevia and erythritol which are both in my top 5 approved sugar substitutes. Add to carbonated water to lighten it up. If you’re into cocktails this can be added to a vodka for a reasonable drink without all the sugar and calories.
Hopefully you like my highlights or at least find them useful for someone. Feel free to reach out and ask me about products you’re questioning.
Toodles!
Miriam
