It’s NOT the same as an Interval or HIIT. So…What is it? Cat’s here to tell you!
So many people call workouts “Tabata Workouts” that are not actually TRUE Tabata Workouts! They might be interval workouts or HIIT workouts, but are they REALLY Tabata Workouts? Watch the video to find out, or read below!
A true Tabata means you:
Do the same exercise
For 20 all-out seconds
Then 10 seconds of active recovery
For 8 straight rounds!!!
So, that means you’re doing like 4 minutes of burpees, or 4 minutes of bicep curls, or 4 minutes of sprints, etc. If you’re doing multiple Tabatas, you should rest for 1 minute between each Tabata. For instance:
Jumping Jacks: 20 seconds all-out. 10 seconds of active recovery. Repeat 7 more times.
Rest 1 Minute
Squat with Bicep Curl: 20 seconds all-out. 10 seconds of active recovery. Repeat 7 more times.
Rest 1 Minute
Burpees: 20 seconds all-out. 10 seconds of active recovery. Repeat 7 more times.
Rest 1 Minute
Etc.
So now you know!!
